SBU-Duquesne University College of Osteopathic Medicine


B.S. / D.O. 4+4 articulation agreement

This inter-institutional partnership between St. Bonaventure and Duquesne College of Osteopathic Medicine offers selected St. Bonaventure students a guaranteed interview and priority admission to DUQCOM upon satisfactory completion of their undergraduate degree program of study at St. Bonaventure.

Admissions requirements

  High School students:
  • Applicants must submit a complete application to SBU ā€“ Common Application is preferred. The application deadline is Friday, Dec. 6, 2024.
  • A combined SAT score of at least 1340 or ACT composite score of at least 28
  • A high school grade point average of at least 90%.
  • Two confidential letters of recommendation, at least one of which should be from a lab science teacher.
  • Two essays:
    • One essay (Personal Statement) that will be included with your Common App.
    • An additional essay titled ā€œApplying to Medical School,ā€ which details your interest in working in the profession of medicine and why you are interested in starting that process at SBU and then continuing at DUQCOM.
  • A resume that organizes your extracurricular activities. 
*If a student is admitted and chooses to enroll at SBU, they must satisfy each of the requirements listed below.

Requirements for all candidates:
ā€¢ Rising senior in good academic standing at SBU 
ā€¢ SBU Cumulative GPA ā€“ 3.6
ā€¢ SBU Science GPA ā€“ 3.5
ā€¢ MCAT score ā€“ Minimum combined score at or above 51st percentile for admission to DUQCOM before submitting secondary application
ā€¢ MCAT score must be submitted not later than Jan. 1st of the year of expected matriculation
ā€¢ 100 hours of physician observation/clinical exposure and 100 hours of volunteering/community service after acceptance into the program
